ICHSSA-4 was designed to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS and other vulnerabilities affecting Orphans and Vulnerable Children, adolescents and their caregivers.
The project used holistic case management with integrated health and social services tailored to the needs of vulnerable households.
Implementation spanned six states in Northern Nigeria: Adamawa, Bauchi, Taraba, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara.

Healthy
Supporting health, nutrition, HIV-related care and access to essential services.
Safe
Strengthening child protection, psychosocial wellbeing and GBV prevention and response.
Schooled
Supporting education assistance as part of integrated household case management.
Stable
Supporting household economic strengthening and systems designed for sustainability.

ICHSSA-4 focused on households affected by HIV/AIDS and other vulnerabilities, with particular attention to Orphans and Vulnerable Children, adolescents and their caregivers.

Civil Society Organisations
Strengthening the network around families.
ICHSSA-4 strengthened a network of more than sixteen Civil Society Organisations to support delivery of Healthy, Schooled, Safe and Stable outcomes.
Systems strengthening for sustainability was also included within the project's integrated service package.
Extending health support beyond the clinic.
The programme also worked to improve routine immunization uptake through school-based and household platforms.
